Day 1 - Mestre
Individual transfer to Mestre Hotel from Venice airport. Time to settle in and free day.
Day 2 - Mestre - Venice - Bled / Bohinj
Meet and greet at hotel reception from 9:00 a.m. - 9.30 a.m. Depart towards Venice, followed by sightseeing in this unique floating city. Enjoy a walking tour with an English-speaking guide, followed by lunch. Continue toward Slovenia. Overnight in the Bled or Bohinj Lake area. (B, L)
Day 3 - Bled / Bohinj
Enjoy a relaxing tour of the stunning glacier Lake Bled, one of Slovenia's most popular destinations for its picturesque settings. After a serene Bled boat ride, enjoy leisure time on the island. Afterwards visit the historic Bled Castle to admire the breathtaking views of the city, lake, and surrounding mountains. On a clear day, you can see Slovenia’s highest peak, Mount Triglav. Our final stop of the day is the tranquil Lake Bohinj, a well-kept secret brimming with photo opportunities. Overnight in the Bled or Bohinj Lake area. (B)
Day 4 - Bled / Bohinj - Klagenfurt - Wörth Lake - Bled / Bohinj
Today, visit the neighbouring country of Austria, where you will be treated to stunning views of the Alps. In the historic county of Carinthia, enjoy a panoramic tour of the picturesque 20 km-long Lake Wörth. Continue to the charming town of Klagenfurt, a university town featuring the beautiful Lindworm fountain in the old city square, the Altplatz. After the visit, enjoy lunch in the Klagenfurt area before returning to the Bled Lake area. Overnight in the Bled or Bohinj Lake area. (B, L)
Day 5 - Bled / Bohinj - Postojna Cave - Rovinj / Vrsar
Before heading to Croatia, visit the enchanting capital of Slovenia, Ljubljana, for a captivating walking tour. Next, explore the magnificent Postojna Cave, one of the largest underground cave systems in Europe, renowned for its wondrous geological formations and home to the mysterious olm. In the late afternoon, arrive on the coast of Croatia's largest peninsula, Istria. Enjoy dinner and overnight in Rovinj or Vrsar. (B, D)
Day 6 - Rovinj / Vrsar - Pula - Rovinj / Vrsar
Our day will begin with sightseeing the most precious jewels of the Istrian Coast. A walk through labyrinths of cobbled streets will lead you through some of the most picturesque streets in Istria, revealing this stunning peninsula’s rich history. Depart towards central Istria for a sample of one of Istria’s tastiest treasures, the truffle. The rest of the day offers a unique sensory experience. Experience olive oil tasting rich in green scent and flavor of various sorts of extra virgin oils at one of the most renowned local producers. Afterward, visit one of the best-preserved amphitheaters in the world, the jewel of Pula, a 3,000-year-old city. Overnight in Rovinj or Vrsar. (B, T)
Day 7 - Rovinj / Vrsar - Opatija - Lake Bajer - Plitvice Lakes National Park
Traveling from Croatia’s largest peninsula, we drive through Opatija. You will have time at leisure to enjoy this wonderful town, full of magnificent villas and old hotels, once a famous winter resort of the Austrian elite. Stroll along the Lungomare promenade, visit Angiolina Park, or enjoy a coffee break at Wagner’s terrace. After we pass the Gorski Kotar region, we arrive at a picturesque place, Fuzine, to explore the Vrelo Cave. With everlasting impressions from Croatia’s green lungs, lunch awaits us at the heart-warming restaurant Bitoraj will blend the traditional, homemade food of the region. Through the lush green scenery, the trip continues to Plitvice Lakes. Overnight in the Plitvice area. (B, L, D)
Day 8 - Plitvice Lakes National Park - Split
After breakfast, let yourself be carried away by the fascinating labyrinth of evergreen woods and lakes interconnected with stunning waterfalls. The UNESCO- protected oldest Croatian national park proudly carries the title of one of the world’s most impressive national parks. After spending time in the park, the journey continues towards Split for a short evening walk through the UNESCO World Heritage site, the largest city on the Adriatic coast. Explore Diocletian’s Palace, built by the Roman emperor Diocletian at the turn of the 4th century, and visit the Grgur Ninski Statue, Cathedral, and Bell Tower of St Domnius. Overnight in Split. (B)
Day 9 - Split
After breakfast, it’s time to say goodbye to your new friends. Transfer to Split Airport or onwards to your Croatia cruise or post tour add-on. (B)
